Lagermax Spedition and KTM deepen their cooperation
Mega-Bike-Center in Munderfing to start operation in August 2015; expansion for further industries served by Lagermax is in the planning stage already
Last week Lagermax Internationale Spedition GmbH (Salzburg) and the KTM group, together with their Indian partner, celebrated the first turn of the sod for a modern MBC – Mega-Bike-Center in Munderfing,Upper Austria. Operation shall start by August 2015. Started in 2005, the cooperation of Lagermax forwarding and KTM Sportmotocycle AG will be further strenghtened by this new MBC.
The new Mega-Bike-Center will provide 24,000 m² to the Lagermax forwarding company for transport and logistics services. The Salzburg-based family enterprise is already operating on behalf of many producers for the motorcycle and spare parts logistics, as well as for European-wide distribution of well-known motorcycle brands.
To guarantee the best quality for solutions in the motorcycle industry, there has been an intense cooperation in the planning stage between the Lagermax staff in charge and KTM. “As a result more customers will profit from the new site“, says Herbert Weber, managing director of Lagermax Internationale Spedition.
In the near future the Lagermax site in Munderfing will also offer logistics and warehousing solutions for other industries. The relevant expansion is already in the planning stage. The existing forwarding site inSalzburghas reached the limits of its capacity, which is the reason why the new facility is also of great importance for the expansion of the logistics services of the forwarding company.
The Lagermax Bike Logistics unit represents professional logistics concepts for motorcycles, quads, ATVs, scooters, mopeds and bicycles as well as the relevant spare parts. KTM counts among the most important customers in this segment and occupies a major part of the logistics centre. By means of a central transport control from the supplier to the customer the forwarding company can guarantee professional transport handling, storage and quality control. Lagermax has developed and offers special equipment such as its own transport racks and other transport means.
The Lagermax corporate group has 54 own locations in Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Macedonia and Turkey) and offers an advances distribution network for all customer demands. The 3,125 employees generated turnover of EUR 390 million in 2013.
