Lehnkering orders new gas tanker

Lehnkering’s shipping logistics & services division wants to consolidate position as universal shipping company

With a new order the Lehnkering Group boosts the expansion and modernisation of their river vessel fleet. The enterprise has ordered another newly built, modern gas tanker from the Dutch shipyard TeamCo SHIPYARD BV. This was their response to future requirements of the market, CEO Cees van Gent discloses in a press release.

The ordered new vessel LRG GAS 88 will bet he 17th unit of their own gas tanker fleet. The integrated boxes for pressure gas are made in Germany by Gronemeyer & Banck. The gas tanker with a maximum draught of 2.80 metres is navigable through channels and hence it can be used on side rivers. It can be used for the complete gas products portfolio of Lehnkering. The construction will take about 14 months from the signing of the contract.

In the future the Lehnkering division Shipping Logistics & Services wants to position itself with its strategic business units dry cargo shipping, gas shipping and liquid cargo shipping as well as on the basis of its fleet structure of owned and chartered vessels even stronger as a universal shipping company.
