Liegl & Dachser strengthens its network with the Hungarian company Szervíz-Sped

Takeover of the Hungarian foodstuffs logistician Szervíz-Sped by Dachser Food Logistics

On 15 August of this year, Liegl & Dachser took over the majority share in the Hungarian foodstuffs logistican Szervíz-Sped. The joint venture based in Pilisvörösvár near Budapest hereby consolidates its food logistics network in Hungary.

Szervíz-Sped was founded in 2003  and has acted as distributor for shipments to Eastern Hungary for Dacher Food Logistics for several years. The company operates six cross-docking platforms (Gyöngyös, Miskolc, Debrecen, Békéscsaba, Szeged, Kecskemét). With their own fleet comprising 45 refrigerated trucks of different sizes Szervíz-Sped  is fully equipped for an area-wide distribution in the region. The company is certified according to ISO 9001 guidelines and among others the largest Hungarian meat processor Pick and the dairy Sole-Mizo are on their customer list.

"This step allows us to offer improved distribution in Hungary to our foodstuffs customers in industry and trade in future", says Engelbert Liegl, general manager of Liegl & Dachser. „With its transport activities Szervíz-Sped perfectly supplements our already existing logistics services".

Dachser Food Logistics has been represented in Hungary with Liegl & Dachser since 2008. The operating facility in Biatorbágy is in the vicinity of the Hungarian Aldi central warehouse near Budapest. Besides distribution and procurement transports, the joint venture also develops complex logistics solutions for the contract logistics sector which is so important in the foodstuffs industry. For these services they offer a multi-user warehouse with 1.900 m² of refrigerated warehousing space (+2 bis +7°C) as well as 2.000 m2 for unchilled goods. Apart from that there are daily connections to the European sales and procurement markets serviced by Liegl & Dachser.
