Logistics property group Goodman advances in Europe

E-commerce as the growth driver in Europe; real estate group Goodman striving for market leadership in Poland
 
The real estate group Goodman has provided more than 370,000 m² logistics area in continental Europe in the frame of 16 projects in the first half of the year 2012. The current building projects of the group represent a total area of more than 520,000 m² in Germany, Poland, Belgium and the Czech Republic. Before the end of the year Goodman wants to complete development projects in Europe on a total space of 800,000 m².
 
However, the company attributes 35 per cent of its new business in Europe to the growth in the e-commerce sector. In 2011 Goodman developed 518,000 m² new space for online retailers; more than 440,000 m² thereof on behalf of Amazon in Germany. Germany is currently accounting for about 45 per cent of the European portfolio of the group. Goodman intends to advance to a leading developer in France and Poland within the next three years.
 
Goodman is a globally leading, stock-market registered real estate group and has about 890 employees worldwide at more than 30 locations in 16 countries. Goodman invests in business parks, office parks, industrial estates, logistics warehouses and distribution centres as well as office buildings. The company concentrates on owning, developing and managing commercial and industrial property assets in continental Europe, Great Britain and Asia-Pacific. Their customers include DHL, DSV, Schenker, Kühne + Nagel, as well as retailers such as Lidl, the French Casino Group, Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge and Philips. In Europe Goodman operates locations in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, France, Spain, Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Great Britain.
