Logistiker cargo-partner shows its „green fingers“

Installation of a photovoltaic system on the headquarters in Fischamend is a milestone in cargo-partner’s sustainable company history

Since recently cargo-partner, an Austrian logistics provider, has its own photovoltaic system on the roof of the headquarters in Fischamend, close to Vienna. The facility was built by oekostrom AG. A total of 1400 PV panels on a massive 4,000m² roof area generates 350 kWp, powering around 100 households. To date, this project is the largest plant of its kind by oekostrom.

The management’s decision to create an in-house PV-plant was a fundamental next step in the sustainability strategy that has been a core focus for several years. “We are determined to further improve energy efficiency, reduce waste, increase recycling and the careful use of process and operating supplies at all of our locations. Our new PV-facility is an important measure in protecting the environment.” says Chairman and CEO, Stefan Krauter.

The original idea of installing a photovoltaics plant had been floating around for two years – plans and licenses were approved within the last year. During the last three weeks oekostrom experts then handled the installation under the supervision of Michael Koppensteiner.

Part of the system is a monitoring app, which supervised the real-time electricity production. That enables quick analysis of whether the plant is working as optimally as desired. All mistakes or damages are visible on this monitoring application and can easily be identified and handled at sight.
