Logwin is further expanding in former Yugoslavia

New national company in Serbia of the worldwide active Logwin group has recently started operating

A new national company was integrated into the worldwide network of Logwin AG. Since recently the enterprise active in the segments customer individual contract logistics, air freight, sea freight, industry and special networks as well as general cargo services has an own branch in Serbia, as Mag. Andreas Kerschner, Director Operations Transport and Retail Network, reports in the interview with the Austrian transport magazine Österreichische Verkehrszeitung.

The new company in Serbia was established with regard to changed provcurement strategies of the customers from the textile and lifestyle segment. “Due to increasing staff costs in China, and a tendency of many producers towards serving customers in the region Intra-Asia, the sourcing behaviour changes towards buying from raw materials manufacturer and wage pickers in Turkey, Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Romania and Bulgaria“, says Kerschner.

This development caused the Logwin group some years ago to establish a logistics location in Stip, Macedonia. The facility provides 1,700 m² warehousing space for hanging garments and 2,600 m² for the handling of raw materials and general cargo. The services range from classic transport and logistics functions to additional services such as customs clearance, assorting and distribution of raw materials, CAD/CAM services, embroidery work and quality control, labelling and order picking.

ÖVZ N° 13/2011 will feature a detailed report on industry and textile logistics of Logwin.
