Logwin offers SPAR logistic support in Croatia

Global logistics service provider Logwin operates a distribution centre each for dry and fresh goods for SPAR in Croatia

Logwin AG has been managing the new dry goods distribution centre for the trading company SPAR Croatia since November 2010. Since the start of 2011, the logistics service provider has also been responsible for the new SPAR fresh goods distribution centre. Both facilities are located in Sveta Nedelja, around 15 kilometres west of Zagreb. Logwin had been the in-house logistician at the previous facility in Jankomir for three and a half years.

With this relocation SPAR has more than doubled the capacity of its central distribution warehouse: Instead of the previous 6,700 m² around 16,000 m² are now available. Around 6,500 food and non-food items are handled in a high bay warehouse with a ceiling height of 12 metres. In January SPAR Croatia also moved into a 5,000 m² refrigerated warehouse for dairy products, meat, fruit and vegetables at the same site. In both facilities Logwin has assumed the role of in-house logistics service provider, managing incoming goods inspection, storage, picking, retrieval, loading and value added services such as for instance labelling. Around 20,000 pallets are transhipped every month. “On-site logistics for our customers relies on flexibility and responsiveness“, says Mario Aschbacher from Logwin.

Logwin AG has its headquarters in Grevenmacher, Luxemburg, and offers global comprehensive logistics and transport solutions. The enterprise has been active in Croatia since 1994. At the four branches in Zagreb, Osijek, Vukovar and Tovarnik, around 100 staff are employed. They are serving retail and mechanical engineering customers, among others.  The SPAR group now operates 15 INTERSPAR and three SPAR supermarkets in the Southeast European country.
