Lufthansa Cargo sets up a branch in Austria

Lufthansa Cargo AG is to implement the reorganisation of its activities in thesegments sales, marketing, operations/hub management Vienna in Austria. Hasso Schmidt, Head of the Regional Management Eastern Europe of the cargo airline, announces the establishment of an Austrian branch when talking to the Austrian transport magazine Österreichische Verkehrszeitung. The new organisational unit for the Austrian market will presumably start operating in September 2012. The staff team will take over the agendas previously attended by Austrian Lufthansa Cargo GmbH. The joint venture is to be closed by the end of the year.Lufthansa Cargo has about 100 employees in Austria at locations in Vienna, Linz, Salzburg and Graz. The location is to be headed by Hasso Schmidt. Arnulf Schoeberl will be in charge of the sectors marketing and sales. His predecessor Eckhardt Balzer will hold the function of the Manager for the Lufthansa Cargo-region Hamburg, Berlin, Dresden and Leipzig of from mid-August 2012. The new Manager of the operations and handling sector in Vienna is Matthias Schulz, who is hence succeeding Klaus Herring.
