Major investment by cargo-partner in Sofia will be launched in June

International transport and info-logistics provider cargo-partner recently celebrated the topping-out ceremony of its iLogistics Center in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia. The new TAPA-A certified warehouse will be operational by the middle of the year.

Covering an area of 16,500 m², the iLogistics Center offers 22,000 pallet slots and 2,000 m² office space for just over 130 employees. The system will feature a modern on-board access control system for incoming trucks and will be equipped with an energy-efficient LED lighting system.

The new iLogistics Center has a siding, so the goods can be brought directly from the wagons to the warehouse. The short distance to the airport is also very important as the air cargo division is cargo-partner’s most important business segment in Bulgaria.

Anton Stoykov, Managing Director of cargo-partner in Bulgaria, emphasised during the celebration: “2018 is an important year for us – and not just because we move into a new building. This year also marks the 15th anniversary of our company in Bulgaria.”

During this time, the Bulgarian branch has convinced with annual growth rates of 35 per cent, the ongoing expansion of the services offered and constant increase in market share, cargo-partner reports in a press release.

In addition to the new building in Bulgaria, cargo-partner invested into a new iLogistics Center with 10,000 m² warehouse space at its main location near Vienna Airport (opening in autumn 2018), the extension of the logistics center in Dunajska Streda, Slovakia (from 7,200 m² to 14,200 m² annually) 2017, with a further expansion stage of 4,000 m² at the end of 2018), new warehouse locations in Hamburg (4,900 m², 2017 opened), Clarksville, Tennessee and Chicago, Illinois (both 14,000 m², opened in 2017), Ljubljana (25,000 m², opening 2019) , and Hong Kong (3,000 m², opening in winter 2018).

The cargo-partner group headquartered in Fischamend (Lower Austria) is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. Founded in 1983 as an airfreight specialist in Vienna, the company now has 130 locations worldwide and offers a broad portfolio of air, sea, land transport, warehousing and supply chain solutions. In 2017, the 2,780 employees generated sales of EUR 700 million.
