Major triumph for new Volvo FH

International Truck of the Year 2014-award: Volvo FH convinces with many innovations

European expert jury selected the new Volvo FH as the International Truck of the Year 2014. The prize was awarded during the Comtrans utility vehicle fair in Moscow. DAF XF and Mercedes-Benz Arocs were ranked second and third.

The chairman of the ITOY jury, Gianenrico Griffini, summed up the reasons for their choice as follows: “Volvo developed an entirely new heavy truck with the FH model. Its modern driver cab, the high tech driveline components and the innovative service concept set benchmarks for the vehicle industry.”

Established in 1977, the International Truck of the Year-award is the most desired international prize in the utility vehicle industry. The prize is awarded annually by a jury of 25 journalists of Europe’s leading utility vehicle magazines, for newly released truck models. Criteria are innovation, comfort, safety, road behaviour, efficiency and environmental friendliness.
