Mazda streamlines spare parts logistics for Southeastern Europe

Mazda‘s spare parts for Southeastern Europe are with immediate effect imported from Japan via Trieste to Klagenfurt

The automotive manufacturer Mazda has optimised its spare parts logistics for 15 countries in Eastern and Southeastern Europe. As of now Mazda Austria‘s spare parts depot in Klagenfurt is supplied with the most important parts directly from Japan via the Port of Trieste. That means the detour via the Europe depot in Brussels is excluded. Thus about 170 full truck loads or 200,000 truck kilometres can be saved per year.

In the spare parts depot (7.000 sq. m.) of Mazda Austria in Klagenfurt a permanent stock worth EUR 4.5 million is stored. The location serves as a hub for the supply of 458 retailers and garages in Austria, Italy, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia, Macedonia, Albania and Moldavia. Around 96 per cent of all orders for spare parts and accessories are handled promptly and overnight. The turnover generated thereby in 2010 amounts to about EUR 75 million.
