Menzies Distribution opens 24-hour newstrade hub

Menzies Distribution has opened a 24-hour newstrade hub in Inverness managing newspaper and magazine deliveries and returns for retailers

Newstrade retailers in Inverness were previously served from a Menzies Distribution facility that handled both newstrade and parcel deliveries, however, the new site will now provide a dedicated support for newstrade operations, to meet just-in-time delivery deadlines.

Menzies currently distributes some 30 million newstrade products a week and makes approximately 25,000 retail drops each day.

Mark Cassie, operations director at Menzies Distribution, said: “We are delighted to announce the opening of our new newstrade logistics hub in Inverness which will provide around the clock, against the clock services to our newstrade customers. We are committed to supporting our publishers and retailers and remain committed to ensuring a sustainable route to market.”
