Michael Wöckinger moves to the top of Hödlmayr High & Heavy

„Career with apprenticeship“ at the Hödlmayr group: Michael Wöckinger (31) takes over the management of the unit for transport of commercial vehicles

The top management team of the Hödlmayr group (Schwertberg) is joined by a new member. Michael Wöckinger takes over the management of the Hödlmayr High & Heavy GmbH. The company deals with the transportation of commercial vehicles with 85 special carriers, which are by 90 per cent designed and built in the company’s workshops in Schwertberg. „To take over the entire responsibility for a business unit, to which you have made a contribution for more than ten years, is a great honor for me,“ says the 31-year-old from Mauthausen.

Michael Wöckinger started his career at Hödlmayr in 1998 with an apprenticeship as office clerk. „In a large company with more than 1,000 employees, one is usually just a number. Although Hödlmayr also has this size, however, the company is still defined as a family enterprise. This brings a special flair and also many opportunities,“ he says.

Since 1969, Hödlmayr trains apprentices as forwarding merchants, clerks, technicians and body shop technicians. „It is also possible to combine the training for the dual profession of automotive technicians and professional drivers,“ explains Brigitte Patak, personnel manager of the Hödlmayr Logistics GmbH. The international network with offices in 14 European countries from the Netherlands to Turkey offer its employees an exceptionally diverse range of development opportunities.

Since one year ago Hödlmayr also offers modular training for apprentices, aiming to strengthen technical, but also social skills. The apprentices are supported during their education through additional seminars, e.g. in the areas of personality development, as well as communication training and conflict management. What is particularly important is the practical application of the acquired knowledge, not only in training but also in their professional life. With dedication and loyalty, as well as some patience and a little luck, nothing stands in the way for a career with Hödlmayr like Michael Wöckinger’s.
