MIQ Logistics opens 70 acre site in Pennsylvania

MIQ Logistics has announced the opening of a new logistics centre in Tannersville, Pennsylvania (US).

Located a half-mile from Interstate 80, the 70 acre property will offer significant scale and easy access into the New York and New Jersey markets and ports, as well as being well placed for regional and national distribution.

"The opening of the Tannersville facility will mark the eighth time in 12 months that MIQ Logistics has enhanced its operations by investing in facilities which add more space, improve access, and expand service capabilities," says John Carr, president and chief operating officer. Other investments in the last year include new logistics centres in Atlanta, Chicago (two facilities), Dallas, Vancouver, Washington, D.C. and Weehawken, New Jersey, as well as the company’s new headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas.

The Tannersville logistics centre features multiple buildings and more than 250 dock doors. The centre will specialise in distribution services, including flow-through fulfilment, freight forwarding, consolidation/ deconsolidation, forward and reverse logistics and transport management. The facility will also have the capability to support value added services such as display building and kitting.
