M&M establish own air & sea freight organisation in Italy

Expansion strategy of M&M Militzer & Münch group in the air and ocean freight sectors results in opening a new affiliate in Italy

M&M Militzer & Münch International Holding AG with headquarters in Sankt Gallen, Switzerland, now operates a second affiliate in Italy. Founded at the beginning of October the new M&M Militzer & Münch air sea cargo srl offers a wide range of services in the air and ocean freight sectors. The head office has been set up at Italy’s biggest airport Fumicino, Rome, a branch office is in Milan. From both locations the new air and sea freight team will offer their customers world-wide services – with a focus on traffic from and to Asia as well as North and South America.

The new affiliate complements the service portfolio of Militzer & Münch in Italy: Militzer & Münch International Italy srl, the already existing affiliate based in Arcore north-east of Milan, offers their customers comprehensive road services with a focus on Maghreb traffic.

Managing Director of the new M&M Militzer & Münch air sea cargo srl is Valter Crescioli, 57, who comes with long years of experience in logistics; among others, he held leading positions with Schenker and Kühne + Nagel.

Founding M&M Militzer & Münch air sea cargo srl was part of an all-encompassing expansion strategy in the air & sea business segment. “We aim at further strengthening our air & sea presence with customer-oriented products”, says Thorsten Meincke member of the management board of M&M Militzer & Münch International Holding AG, in charge of the air & sea segment. “Our new locations in Italy are ideally situated strategically, in economically important regions with excellent infrastructure.”

The Militzer & Münch Group employs a staff of about 2,800 at 100 locations in over 30 countries. The enterprise offers road and rail transport, and project logistics along the East-West corridor in Eurasia and North Africa, as well as world-wide air and sea freight. The Group operates with a dense network of its own branch offices in Western and Eastern Europe, the CIS, in the Middle East, the Far East, and the Maghreb countries.
