Montan Spedition launches novelty MOCO Triple

40-years-jubilee of Montan Spedition: Company from Kapfenberg invests about EUR 2 million into MOCO system

A great novelty was presented to the more than 200 guests of the festivity on the 40-years-jubilee of the forwarding company Montan Spedition on September 13. Managing Director Ingrid Glauninger and her son Christian Glauninger presented the new transport box named MOCO Triple to their customers and business partners. The special container can carry a maximum of 32 tonnes of heavy bulk cargo, such as ores for the steel industry, and can be stacked three times when empty.

The forwarding company is currently investing about EUR 2 million into the MOCO system with new containers, transhipment and transport equipment. Their objective for the coming years is to offer the proven MOCO logistics on new routes and more countries, said Ingrid Glauninger at the event. The focus lies on Southeast European countries and the new members of the European Union.

Established in 1973 the Montan Spedition joins the benefits of road and rail transport in an intermodal system. The enterprise based in Kapfenberg, Styria, is a pioneer of unaccompanied intermodal transport on continental railway routes in Europe. The core of the system is the MOCO fleet (Montan Container) of about 1,000 units for the transportation of loose goods, metal and finished goods. Disposition of the unaccompanied intermodal services on routes from northwestern Europe via Austria to the Black Sea region lies in the hands of 40 employees at the locations in Kapfenberg, Fürnitz and Istanbul. In 2012 Montan Speditions GmbH achieved turnover of EUR 17 million.
