Montan Spedition works on IT platform for UKV customers

IT innovation of Montan Spedition shall improve organisation processes in unaccompanied combined transport

The Montan Spedition forwarding company has been working with its IT partner, the Prosys company from Bergheim/Salzburg, to establish an innovative IT communication and information platform with web access for customers of unaccompanied transport for a while. The software is already completed. We are currently adjusting the interfaces of the existing EDP devices and implementing the new software in the total system“, the enterprise based in Kapfenberg, Upper Styria, announces in a press release.

The aim of the new software is to automate information processes during unaccompanied combined transport, focussed data exchange with every participant of the transport chain, real time-alarm systems in case of transport disturbances, transport monitoring and web based tracking of shipments for customers.

Montan Spedition will be the first enterprise in Europe to offer this IT innovation, as they state. If everything passes like scheduled, a trial run shall start this summer. The management expects the platform to support and facilitate work for their employees. Customers are enabled to trace their shipments. The platform will be operated together with Montan Terminal.
