More independency for Raaberbahn Cargo

GYSEV Cargo Zrt. and Raaberbahn Cargo GmbH are the new competence centres for cargo transport by Raaberbahn AG:

Since the start of this year two legally independent enterprises have been attending to the freight business of Raaberbahn AG. GYSEV Cargo Zrt. (Sopron) and the Austrian subsidiary Raaberbahn Cargo GmbH (Wulkaprodersdorf) have been carrying out rail cargo transport and logistics services of their parent company since 1 January 2011.

Rail cargo transport and related logistic services form the core business of the two cargo companies. The services are ranging from combined transport activities (including the container terminal Sopron) and cargo transport by block trains. As for logistics they offer solutions for the segments warehousing logistics, customs handling, transport organisation, repair/cleaning of boxes and tank containers as well as asset protection and security services.

GYSEV Cargo and Raaberbahn Cargo have 240 employees in total, who generated a turnover of about EUR 50 million in 2010. Cargo transport volume amounted to 5.4 million tons, which is 10 per cent above the previous year’s level. Container terminal Sopron can handle about 72,000 units per year, when runnig at full capacity.
