More ISO certifications for GLS parcel service

GLS companies in Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Hungary and Spain working according to ISO standard 14001
 
With immediate effect eight more companies affiliated to the GLS parcel service are certified according to the environmental standard ISO 14001. This means also the branches in Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, the Czech Republic, Hungary and the GLS B.V. holding meet the relevant criteria. The worldwide operating audition company Dekra confirmed that they have an efficient and well performing environmental management system. In addition the quality management of two companies of the group (Spain and the holding) was certified according to ISO 9001, the management announces in a letter.
 
GLS embedded its environmental management system into the group’s sustainability initiative titled Think Green. In the frame of this initiative, the group builds new locations according to ecological principles, optimises transport planning and motivates to save resources at work.
 
“ISO is the most important standard for environmental management in companies“, says Rico Back, CEO of GLS. “Through this certification we engage ourselves to continuously improve our processes in order to reduce emissions and the consumption of resources.”
