Most logistics operators expect to grow
Three quarters of logistics companies expect their business to grow next year, according to a survey of 370 freight and logistics operators by the Freight Transport Association in partnership with Santander.
However, Elizabeth de Jong, the FTAâs director of UK policy, warned: âLogistics businesses are facing rising operating costs. The on-going increase in fuel prices â up 18 per cent since December 2017 â presents a key challenge. While FTA is pleased the government decided not to increase fuel duty in its autumn Budget, weâre disappointed it didnât take the opportunity to reduce it, given this rise. The report also discovered that operators are struggling with increased warehouse rates and are finding it difficult to pass these increased input costs on to customers.â
