ND Group follows strict cost programme

 
ND Group entered into a new dimension in 2008

The balance sheet 2008 of the ND Group (Norbert Dentressangle) is marked by the integration of the activities of Christian Salvesen. With a turnover of EUR 3.1 billion the reference figure of the previous year was exceeded by 72 per cent. The organic growth of the ND Group (excluding Christian Salvesen) amounted to 4.3 per cent, which is largely produced by the logistics division. Its business volume grew by 7 per cent; the one of the transport division grew by 2.8 per cent. Compared to 2007 the ND Group improved its operative result by 17 per cent to EUR 78.9 million. At total the balance shows a net profit of EUR 42.4 million.

ND Group dedicates the year 2009 to the reorganisation of Christian Salvesen transport services in the UK, and a strict cost policy. According to an announcement of Francois Bertreau, Chairman of the Executive Board, resources will be continuously adjusted to the customers’ demands.

ND Group based in Saint-Vallier in France has nearly 15,000 employees at 175 locations in 10 countries (including Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic and Romania). The enterprise operates 660 passages per day and thus is the market leader in road transport between Great Britain and the European continent. The fleet comprises 8,500 tractors and 9,300 trailers. The warehousing capacity amounts to around 3.8 million square metres.
