New air freight era with Panalpina in Amsterdam

Direct apron access for Panalpina at Schiphol Airport

Panalpina Group opens up a new chapter of air freight forwarding at the Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam. The enterprise is the first transport and logistics service provider to have a terminal with direct access to the apron. “The use of the Vrachtgebouw Nr. 18 (VR 18) allows us to accelerate ground operations and to improve the security of the supply chain. This adds value to the services for our customers“, the management announces in a press release. The globally acting forwarding company has further locations with direct access to the apron in Luxemburg and Huntsville in the United States.

The new Panalpina terminal is situated in the south-east of the Schiphol airport. The facility has more than 10,000 square metres of warehousing and 2,012 square metres office space. It is TAPA-A certified and complies with the GDP guidelines (GDP = good distribution practice). Warehouses and site are equipped with a video surveillance system. All employees of Panalpina passed a HSE-training (HSE = health safety and environmental protection).
