New “commander” at DDSG Cargo and Mahart Duna Cargo

Herfried Leitner is CEO and Managing Director at Helogistics Holding

The Management of Helogistics Holding GmbH with its subsidiaries Erste Donau-Dampfschiffahrtsgesellschaft and Mahart Duna-Cargo received the announced personnel expansion. As of now Herfried Leitner (39) supports the enterprise in the function as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

Herfried Leitner joining the group completes the management restructuring which had begun with the acquisition of DDSG by the Cypriot East Point Holdings Ltd in 2007. The management team consisting of Janos Litvai (Chief Operating Office), Markus Hofer (Chief Financial Officer) and Zoran Maksimovic (Chief Technical Officer) reports directly to Mr. Leitner.

“The new Managing Director has the necessary hands-on experience and determination, but also visions to transform the enterprise into a leading river shipping company on the Danube. East Point Holdings continues to support the group as a strategic shareholder. We remain upbeat about the future prospects“, Zoran Drakulic, founder of East Point Holdings, commented on the decision.

Previously to his entry at Helogistics Holding Herfried Leitner held the function of General Director for FM Logistic in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. From 1999 to 2006 the born Styrian held the function of Managing Director at Maersk Logistics Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.

According to its own account the Helogistics Holding GmbH is a leading provider of logistics and transport services along the Danube and Rhine rivers, primarily operated by its subsidiaries Erste Donau-Dampfschiffahrts-GmbH and Mahart Duna-Cargo Kft. The company specialises in the transport of bulk commodities such as grain, iron ore and coal.
