New DHL Freight logistics gateway in Ukraine

DHL Freight logistics centre in Kalinovka meets highest security standards and serves as important hub for trade with Eastern Europe

 

Opening a new logistics centre in Ukraine, DHL Freight creates the basis for further growth in Eastern Europe. According to the enterprise the 20,000 m² site in Kalinovka near Kiev provides state-of-the-art infrastructure and highest security standards. The new facility will serve as a main gateway for Eastern Europe, especially Ukraine, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia.

DHL Freight employs around 140 people at the new location. The handling and storage area is equipped with 17 docking positions for trucks, and is completely under video surveillance. Electronic access control and intrusion systems provide additional security. "The new centre will take our freight business to the next level in terms of coverage, transport volumes and cost efficiency. Furthermore it strengthens our supply chain network and allows us to serve international companies transporting goods to and from Eastern Europe", says Stefano Arganese, Chief Executive Officer DHL Freight Central Eastern Europe Middle East.

Ukraine is an important growth market for DHL. The country is part of DHL Freight’s road freight network that connects Western Europe with Eastern Europe and the Middle East stretching from Austria to Russia and Poland up to Dubai and the United Arab Emirates.
