New freighter aircraft for Etihad, new ships for NOL
Etihad Airways‘ first A300-200 F has made its maiden flight from Toulouse to Abu Dhabi; and NOL Group has finalised an order for two new 10,700 TEU container ships. Etihad Airways has taken delivery of its first A330-200 freighter aircraft. Etihad is the launch customer for the freighter, which made its maiden flight from Airbus in Toulouse to the airline’s base in Abu Dhabi on August 9th. Officially handed over to the UAE-based airline in July, the new freighter aircraft will enter service with Etihad Crystal Cargo in September. NOL Group has finalised an order for two new 10,700 TEU container ships for delivery in 2012. These two vessels are part of a twelve-ship order valued at US$1.2 billion, to be built by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering.
