New functionalities for the qIDmini, a keyfob Bluetooth UHF RFID reader by CAEN RFID
CAEN RFID, a global provider of UHF RFID products, announces the release of the qIDmini (Model R1170I), a keyfob Bluetooth UHF RFID reader of its easy2read© family.
The qIDmini is a keyfob UHF RFID reader with an integrated antenna suited for short to medium range applications and, thanks to the Bluetooth® communication interface, it is a perfect UHF RFID add-on for any Bluetooth® enabled host such as a PC, a smartphone, a PDA or a tablet. The reader is compatible with Windows XP/7, Windows CE/Mobile, Android, iPhone and iPad.
The qIDmini has a very compact and handy form factor, you can hold it in your pocket just like your keyfob. The interface, besides an LCD display and a buzzer, includes a vibrator suited for signaling in noisy environments where the buzzer cannot be heard or in quite environment like libraries or hospitals.
It can operate both in wired mode, using a USB cable, or in wireless mode through the Bluetooth interface. The reader can also operate in „Batch Mode“, allowing to store EPC codes into the internal memory when the communication link (USB or Bluetooth) is not available. Moreover with the new Firmware release the qIDmini has the possibility to show custom information on its display.

The HID version supports native keyboard emulation allowing to interact directly with legacy application, office automation SW or any other generic solution requiring manual input.
Designed for mobile operators in indoor or outdoor areas, the qIDmini is ideal for in-store inventory management, field sales mobility, service and maintenance applications.
