New illustrated book about people and activities at the Port of Vienna

Illustrated book „Hafen Wien – Logistik im Fluss“ provides comprehensive information about the trimodal logistics hub:

On August 3, the Port of Vienna, a company of Wien Holding, presented a new illustrated book titled „Hafen Wien – Logistik im Fluss“ (Port of Vienna – logistics on the river). Within one year Hubert Dimko has photographed moods and impressions at Vienna’s port. Black-and-white photos show the facilities and business segments of the Port of Vienna and illuminate its role as a modern European traffic junction and motor of Vienna’s industry. The illustrated book with a soft cover captures the daily logistic processes at the port and the people acting there.

The 168-pages illustrated book was released by Hafen Wien; production lied in the hands of echomedia Buchverlag. The book is available for the date of publishing with the ISBN number 978-3-902672-44-5 in book stores. The aim of this work is to show readers the diverse fields of performance of Vienna’s port area and illuminate its significance for the capital.

The Port of Vienna is one of Austria’s biggest cargo transport centres. Apart from its core business – trimodal cargo throughput – the enterprise operates a 270,000 m² logistics centre, an automotive terminal as well as the currently biggest container terminal at the Danube. Their business segments cover also property management and project development. Moreover the enterprise has a sports boat and leisure port – Marina Wien. With its subsidiaries the enterprise is also active in tourist shipping on the Danube.
