New Logix survey on the future of logistics real estate
In July 2017, the Initiative Logistikimmobilien (Logix) presented its second study. Under the title “The Future of Logistics Real Estate and Sites” it deals with the trends and developments that project developers, users, investors, municipalities and economic development supporters will have to expect in the planning and settlement of logistics real estate in the future.
The authors of the second Logix study are Prof. Dr. Christian Kille, Professor of Trade Logistics at the University of Applied Sciences in Würzburg and Dr. Alexander Nehm, Managing Director of Logivest Concept GmbH. Their study follows the first Logix study “Logistics Real Estate – Hubs of the Supply Chain”, which was published in 2016.
The starting point for the second Logix study was the recognition that in times of a strongly changing consumer behavior, a serious impact on the supply chain for the supply of cities is to be expected. The objective was to objectify the discussion about the future of logistics estates and locations, to expose irrational myths, to reveal short-lived fashions and to establish sustainable trends.
The result of this ambitious goal is the discussion of 17 different areas of logistics and their assessment for logistics properties and locations in the Logix study. From a variety of theses, the authors have finally worked out six core theses on the future of the logistics industry.
