FM Logistic and Kärcher France’s cooperation enters new dimension

Kärcher celebrates its 50th anniversary in France and enhances its cooperation with FM Logistic
 
The partnership of Kärcher, world leader in high-pressure cleaners, and FM Logistic is now fully operational. It has been built up on a step-by-step basis, starting with a tender in the first half of 2010. Initially 8,500m² of the 75,000m² on the FM Logistic hub in Fontenay-Trésigny, south-east to Paris, were allocated to Kärcher. Today the surface area assigned to the company totals 12,000m², where the logistics company stocks the entire Kärcher catalogue of some 3,000 products, ranging from air and water towers for cars, to ride-on cleaners or sweepers and window vacs for private users, as well as cleaning products, accessories and spare parts.
 
The Fontenay-Trésigny hub stores an average of 10,500 pallets in a bulk storage area for high-rotation products or for use in cross-dock mode, and a "racked" section for other products. The site processes about 170,000 incoming and outgoing pallets. In addition to warehousing services, FM also works with Kärcher France in the field of supplies and manages 40% of the goods flows from Germany in addition to incoming goods from Romania and Lithuania. FM Logistic France has more than 40 years experience in the industry, and offers its clients a complete range of warehousing, transport, packing and supply chain services. FM France currently has 3,500 staff and a surface area of 1,000,000 m² spread across 20 sites. The French subsidiary of Kärcher, a specialist in cleaning solutions for both private clients and professionals, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The French branch employs more than 380 people, achieving a turnover of EUR 168 million in 2011.
