BLG and Hyundai Glovis to form joint venture in Europe

BLG Logistics Group and Hyundai Glovis want to enhance their cooperation in automobile logistics business in Europe
 
On 21 August Kyung-Bae Kim, CEO and President Hyundai Glovis Co. Ltd., and Detthold Aden, CEO BLG Logistics Group, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Bremen to establish a joint venture in the automobile transport business in Europe. 
 
Hyundai and the KIA brand, also affiliated to the group, has been among the major customers of the BLG-business division automobile logistics. Also Hyundai Glovis, as the central logistics service provider of Hyundai is entertaining a tight cooperation with the BLG Logistics Group. The planned joint venture shall enhance the partnership of both enterprises. 
 
The services of BLG for the brands Hyundai and KIA are focussed on the car terminals in Bremerhaven and Kelheim: throughput and technical processing, transport on road and rail. In 2011 total volume amounted to more than 300,000 vehicles. The Hyundai Group produces several series for the European market in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Vehicles for Western Europe are distributed to retailers via the BLG car terminal in Kelheim.
