Ennshafen handles about 270.000 TEU in 2011
Management of Ennshafen port expects stable water/land throughput volume for the total year 2011:
Ennshafen port gets a positive résumé about 2011. In the company magazine “Hafen Journal“ managing director Mag. Christian Steindl anticipates a total volume at the container terminal of about 270,000 TEU. This means a 20 per cent-increase on the previous year and thus the best throughput result of the trimodal logistics hub located at the border of the Laender Upper Austria and Lower Austria.
Water/land throughput had some backstrokes in 2011, due to low water levels and the tanker accident on Rhine in January. Nonetheless Christian Steindl assumes “the 2010 throughput result will be slightly exceeded with about 663,000 tons“.
