IMS recruits Patrick Schleifer as Head of Continental Services

Austrian organisation of container operator IMS plans cautious expansion in the segment of continental transport on the railway

 
Containeroperator IMS – Intermove Systems Speditions und Transport GmbH, previously concentrating on handling maritime transport on the railway and additional services for trucking and customs clearance, is about to expand its range of services. Therefore the company based in Vienna recruited Patrick Schleifer, MBA, as head of the continental department. His first working day with IMS was August 1, 2013.
 
"With Patrick Schleifer we have gained an experienced manager in continental logistics, who will expand our network of intermodal rail connections with new continental routes", says Wolfgang Tomassovich, CEO of IMS. Most recently, Patrick Schleifer was responsible for the procurement with partner railways at Rail Cargo Austria (RCA).
 
IMS was established in 1993 as a private container operator. Together with worldwide partners the full service provider offers services related to combined transport. With about 100 employees the container operator handled 147,000 TEU last year and generated turnover of EUR 47 million. The company operates locations in Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Spain and Portugal.
