New partners of GLS in Serbia and Croatia

Parcel service GLS General Logistics Systems cooperates with ZUMEx in Croatia and AKS Express Kurir in Serbia:

The GLS group is expanding its European-wide network with two new regionally good positioned parcel service suppliers. In Croatia the ZUMEx company has been handling deliveries since recently, in Serbia it is AKS Express Kurir. GLS in turn has been carrying out deliveries in Europe for the two partners since June.

The new network partner ZUMEx counts among the three biggest parcel service providers in Croatia. AKS Express Kurir is the market leader in the express segment in Serbia. The offers of the companies are ranging from parcel and express services to warehousing. ZUMEx operates five locations including hub and wants to expand. Five more depots are in the pipeline. In Serbia AKS Express Kurir is present with 20 distribution centres and a hub.

GLS had started to hand over parcels for delivery to the two new partners on 1 April, both partners expanded their product portfolio to international parcel shipping in June. The consignments are fed into the extensive network of GLS in Europe, which comprises currently 42 nations.

”Being able to offer uniform products and services throughout Europe is a strategic advantage for us in the market“, explains Marko Jankovic, COO of ZUMEx. Also Aleksandar Stanojevic, Managing Partner of AKS Express Kurir, emphasises on the growing importance of an international connection: „Our customers are increasingly looking across the borders of Serbia and expect us as a market leader to provide them high quality transport solutions for their parcel consignments also abroad. The cooperation with GLS enables us to offer this across Europe.“ Both parcel services expect a further growth impetus from this step.
