New relation between Turkey and Europe with GreenBridge Multimodal

Samskip Multimodal and Intercombi introduce joint initiative GreenBridge Multimodal C.V. for multimodal services between Europe and Turkey

Samskip Multimodal B.V., European multimodal solutions provider, and Intercombi (ICL) Transport, a subsidiary of the logistics company Turkey Netlog Logistics Group, have launched GreenBridge Multimodal C.V. This joint initiative will be offering high frequency connections between Turkey and Europe.

Initially three block trains per week will be operated, linking the Samskip Multimodal rail terminal in Duisburg to the Port of Trieste, where the cargo can be forwarded on ships operating between Trieste and Istanbul. The company expects the block train service frequency to increase to five departures a week in the near future.

The GreenBridge initiative combines the Samskip’s European multimodal network and Intercombi’s expertise in the Turkish market. GreenBridge will also offer customs clearance assistance, dedicated customer service and local representation.

Diederick Blom, Chief Operating Officer Samskip Multimodal B.V. says “This joint initiative fits in with the on-going demand for sustainable multimodal transport solutions between Turkey and Europe perfectly”. Combining rail, road and sea services with modern equipment, GreenBridge Multimodal offers a sustainable door–door transport service. Samskip and Intercombi Transport are limited partners in Greenbridge.
