New service concept with Europorte Channel und Ewals Cargo

First transit of unaccompanied Ewals Cargo Care Mega trailers through the Channel Tunnel
 
Europorte Channel, the cross-Channel Railfreight operator, has launched a new unaccompanied trailer transport service between Antwerp and London in cooperation with Ewals Cargo Care and Ewals Intermodal.
 
This new service which enables the transport of complete trailers – wheels, flatbeds and container loads, is fast and has a very low carbon footprint. It can operate over long distances such as from Belgium, Germany or Eastern Europe. A successful test run transporting goods for the Vauxhall Group was conducted, on 21-22 May over the almost 400 km distance between Antwerp in Belgium and Barking, in the United Kingdom.
 
Ewals Cargo Care with headquarter in Tegelen (The Netherlands) offers its clients solutions In the fields of road transport and intermodal transport. For this ECC disposes of its own standardised equipment used Europe-wide.
 
The ECC fleet consists of 4,500 units.  There are 3,000 ‘Mega’ and other specialist trailers and some 1,500 intermodal units ranging from 20-ft coil carriers to 13.6-metre swap bodies.
