Night Star Express keeps steering a course of moderate expansion

Night Star Express overnight express operator  sees slightly growing volume in 2014; IT investments to raise efficiency of shipment handling

Night Star Express reports solid growth of shipment volumes in 2014. With around 4.9 million transported consignments Europe’s second largest overnight express operator achieved a three per cent increase year-on-year. The company profited from gains in the transnational business with existing customers. Thus, the overnight express specialist remains on a course of moderate expansion.

„Having achieved a three per cent growth of shipments in 2014, we are quite satisfied, even if we did not reach our goal of surpassing the benchmark of five million transported shipments,“ says Matthias Hohmann, CEO Night Star Express. Competition in the overnight express market has become worse in the last two years. As a result, prices were under pressure in all customer segments.

For 2015 Night Star Express is planning to implement further investments in IT services designed to offer the customer added value for efficient shipping. Combined with a high quality-overnight express service, the company wants to be armed for competition and continue to grow.
