NNR expands with new distribution centre

NNR Global Logistics, part of the Nishitetsu Group, has expanded its contract logistics services by opening a new DC in Northampton.

“We have seen significant interest for our contract logistics offerings and we are already planning further sites throughout the UK, both dedicated and multi user facilities,” said Tim Dabbs, head of contract logistics.

The multi-user site on the Crow Lane Industrial Estate totals 63,000 sq ft with six loading bay doors with storage accommodating over 7,000 pallets.

In 2013, NNR Global Logistics generated gross revenue of $1.7 billion and estimated net revenue of $450 million. It has operations in 55 countries on six continents, and employs 4,769 people.

Dabbs said: “The new site provides NNR with a platform to support both existing and new customers in total end to end logistics solutions. The location is perfect, within easy reach of the M1 and A45 an ideal location for us to provide quality warehousing, distribution and value added services.”

The $4.4 billion Nishitetsu Group is headquartered in Fukuoka, Japan. Nishitetsu grew out of Nishi-Nippon Railroad, one of 16 private Japanese railroads, and is made up of a wide array of companies in multiple industries from bus and taxi services to leisure and hospitality. Over 40 per cent of its revenues come from third-party logistics activities marketed under the NNR Global Logistics brand.
