Noerpel puts focus on commercial logistics and brand business

New entrant Michael Salmen – former Nagel Group – to head Noerpel’s business segment of commercial logistics

In the course of its growth strategy the Noerpel logistics company based in Ulm expands its business segment of commercial logistics. Since January 2014 Michael Salmen (54) is in charge of this segment. In the past 13 years the new entrant had been working for Kraftverkehr Nagel in Versmold, a company of the Nagel Group, in charge of distribution in Central Europe.

Expanding the business segment of commercial logistics Noerpel is concentrating on international commercial customers as well as the European brand industry in the segments of food and non-food. The company expects high synergy effects for the supply of all levels of trade.

Established in 1881, Noerpel is by its own account a leading logistics provider in southern Germany and a regional leader for exports in Europe today. Combining the segments of forwarding, logistics, co-packing and supply of temporary workers, as well as a close connection to the network, the transport and logistics company provides comprehensive services from one source.

The fifth-generation family enterprise is headquartered in Ulm. Apart from southern Germany the company has strong roots in Vorarlberg and northern Switzerland. Their customers include mainly companies from the consumer goods and food industry, as well as supply companies. With about 1,300 employees at ten sites in Germany and the Czech Republic Noerpel has generated turnover of EUR 220 million in 2013.
