Pacer expands its intermodal services into Chihuahua, Mexico

Pacer International, Inc. has announced the expansion of its Mexico Direct (Intermodal/Double Stack) service between Chihuahua, Mexico and key markets within the US and Canada. The service will operate five days per week to and from the Chihuahua market. The service utilizes Ferromex and Union Pacific networks.

Pacer will support the new service by providing equipment from a fleet of more than 18,500 high cube intermodal containers and a newly established chassis pool located at the Ferromex rail ramp in Chihuahua. This service has been established to help customers, within 150 miles of the Chihuahua ramp.

"We have further expanded our Mexico services with the addition of Chihuahua, Mexico. Our customers are now able to improve their supply chain performance and the security of their products by eliminating the need to truck finished goods and production parts to/from the U.S.-Mexico border." said Mike Burns, Chief Commercial Officer.
