Palletways expands at Nijmegen

Palletways has opened a new depot in Nijmegen to meet growing demand in the Benelux region.

The 52,400 sq ft facility is double the size of the previous depot. Further warehousing space has also been incorporated, with a second 9,000 sq ft warehouse adjacent to the distribution centre to offer greater flexibility for pallets travelling across Europe.

The depot will also host a Palletways Fulfilment service – the first outside the UK – and will have warehousing capacity for around 1,500 pallets. Fulfilment allows customers to store their products in Palletways’ warehouses, with the ability to manage stock so that orders can be placed later for next day delivery.

Henk Dellepoort, Palletways managing director in Benelux, said: “Holland is one of the world’s busiest shipping and logistics locations, and with Nijmegen positioned so close to the German border we wanted to ensure that our new distribution centre could handle the ever-growing demands of Europe’s leading pallet network. This new facility will guarantee that we continue to provide our customers and members with the best possible services, both now and in the future”.
