The state prize trophy and certificates were presented by the General Secretary Harald Kaszanits on behalf of the federal minister of economics, education and research, who emphasized the importance of the prize in recognition of the creative achievements of Austria’s top packers. The aim of the State prize is to highlight the importance of holistic, comprehensive solutions in packaging and reward excellent projects as best practice examples.
This year the state prize for packaging will be awarded for the 56th time and is thus the oldest national prize, which is awarded by the ministry of economic affairs; in cooperation with the ministry of agriculture, forestry, environment and water since 2001. The Austrian institute for packaging has ever since been a partner and responsible for the handling of the state prize. In 2014 the previous state award for best packaging was relaunched as a state prize for smart packaging.
