Pharmaceutical SCM Priorities Explored in New Report

eft have released the first part of the 2014 Life Sciences Supply Chain Report Series, exploring pharmaceutical SCM challenges and priorities for the next 12 months.

The report provides a comprehensive look at supply chain challenges and priorities for pharmaceutical executives, exploring globalization and security concerns as well as relationships with supply chain partners. The report also looks at the impact of more future-looking trends such as big data, direct-to-consumer delivery and M&A, giving food for thought as to how the industry might develop in the next 5-10 years.

Key findings in the report included:

  • Forecasting and S&OP is the biggest challenge facing pharmaceutical supply chain executives for the coming 12 months
  • Compliance challenges represent the biggest concern for the cold chain
  • 58% of pharmaceutical manufacturer respondents carry out direct-to-customer deliveries – the biggest benefit of this? It enables the manufacturer to move closer to the patient

This part of the report series focuses on the views of pharmaceutical manufacturers, with further releases due to focus on medical devices and solution provider points of view.
