Private cargo railway LTE has confidence for 2013

Private cargo railway LTE Logistik & Transport GmbH moved almost 4 million tonnes of goods in the 2012 financial year

The private cargo rail company LTE Logistik & Transport GmbH based in Graz, Styria, shows confidence regarding the development of the demand for traction services for cargo transport on block trains in the year 2013. In the interview with the Austrian transport magazine Österreichische Verkehrszeitung Andreas Mandl, managing director, says he was expecting the volume to rise, stimulated by the strong demand for transport solutions for wood products and wood chips on the trades from Eastern and Southeastern Europe.

In 2012 LTE transported a volume of almost 4 million tonnes, meaning a year-on-year increase of about 10 per cent. The main growth drivers were grain transportations ex Hungary and Southeastern Europe, which are developing positively according to Andreas Mandl. “In our daily business we are operating eleven own locomotives and 13 leased machines and we are handling an increasing number of cross border long-distance transportations“, the manager adds. The 110 employees of the company with locations in Austria, Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany and the Netherlands have lately achieved annual turnover of about EUR 60 million.
