“Pure Green Pioneers”: TX Logistics, Vegatrans and Kässbohrer

setting up the “Pure Green Pioneers” cooperation, TX Logistik AG is enhancing its commitment to climate-neutral transports. The aim, together with the partners Vegatrans, Kässbohrer Transport Technik and the consulting firm LinkinBiz, is to shift even more transports to the railway uising new concepts and products.

For this purpose, the latest versions of the NiKRASA 2.0 and roadrailLink (r2L) handling systems will be presented at the “transport logistic” trade fair in Munich from 4 to 7 June. NiKRASA makes non-craneable semi-trailers craneable, and roadrailLink turns standard pocket wagons into automotive wagons for commercial vehicles.

“Today it is the order of the day to reduce CO2 emissions in all areas. This applies in particular to
freight traffic. Shippers are facing the challenge of reducing CO2 emissions in their logistics chains. Many companies now have strict CO2 savings requirements,” says Berit Börke, TX Logistics Chief Sales Officer.

For example, in the automotive industry, there are more and more group targets with regards for CO2 savings. “In some cases, the output must be reduced by up to 30 per cent within the next few years,” explains Franz Blum, Managing Director and shareholder of Vegatrans. “Our r2L platform, developed
together with Kässbohrer, helps to reduce emissions along the entire outbound logistics chain.” This can save up to 30 tonnes of CO2 per departure and direction. At the same time, the shift to rail will relieve road freight transport in sensitive regions such as the Brenner route.

For Vegatrans, green logistics is not just the order of the day, but rather a corporate philosophy and an important part of the corporate DNA. Participating in the cooperation “Pure Green Pioneers” is therefore just as logical for Franz Blum as for Günther Percht, Managing Director of Kässbohrer Transport Technik GmbH: “Change needs the dynamism of a group of pioneers who have the courage to break new grounds and overcome obstacles,” is their motto.

TX Logistik was founded in 1999 as a private rail transport company and offers a powerful European network with connections in 11 countries. The company has subsidiaries in Switzerland, Austria, Denmark and Sweden as well as local representation in Italy and the Netherlands. In the Intermodal and Rail Freight business units, TX Logistik develops comprehensive rail solutions for continental and maritime transport as well as tailor-made concepts for conventional freight. With around 500 employees, the company generated annual sales of EUR 250 million in 2017. Since January 2017, TX Logistik has been wholly owned by Mercitalia Logistics SpA, a subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane.
