Qatar Airways makes Vienna a „Dreamliner“ destination

Qatar Airways’ Boeing 787 Dreamliner to serve the Vienna-Doha route on a regular basis from 1 September – thus increasing air freight capacity

Qatar Airways will be serving the Vienna-Doha route with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner from 1 September 2014. The reason for the introduction of this modern aircraft is the increasing demand in this region, and the steady continued commitment of the Arab airline in the Austrian market. They will be the first airline to operate a regular Dreamliner service to Vienna’s airport, the company emphasises in their press release.

“After ten years of success in Vienna, we are happy to introduce the Boeing 787. At the new Hamad International Airport in Doha Qatar Airways offers air travellers and shippers from Austria connections to more than 140 destinations worldwide, in Europe, the Far and Middle East, Africa, the Indian Subcontinent, Australia und America“, says Günter Saurwein, Country Manager Germany and Austria.

„We have been cooperating with Qatar Airways for many years, and the market is developing positively. We are delighted about this capacity increase, in which we can see new growth impetus for our role as a gateway to the region of the Far and Middle East. The regular operation of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner to Vienna makes us particularly proud”, says Mag. Julian Jäger, CEO Flughafen Wien AG.
