Quehenberger Logistics manages distribution of Libro and Pagro

Quehenberger Logistics to be in charge of delivery to 360 Libro and Pagro branches from September:

With the start of September Quehenberger Logistics is to take over as an external service provider the complete transport management of the MTH trading group, which operates 240 Libro and 120 Pagro branches in Austria. The logistics service provider and its new major customer have elaborated a customised concept for individual supply of the retail sites from the new MTH central warehouse in Möllendorf near Eisenstadt.

While transport were previously handled by several different partners and controlled by the logistics divisions of Libro and Pagro, the new transport management is now fully controlled by Quehenberger Logistics. “Our solution is based on the comprehensive competence in retail business“, says Christian Fürstaller, CEO of Augustin Quehenberger Group.

Up to 65 swap bodies, equipped with changeable ad spaces, are loaded every day by Quehenberger Logistics staff and branches are supplied in scheduled time windows. Delivery is carried out according to an individual tour concept. This is among others also based on the area covering general cargo network of Quehenberger Logistics, covering seven regional throughput centres in Austria. During delivery returns and empty rolling boxes are managed by Quehenberger Logistics.

The tour planning allows to compensate for seasonal fluctuations in capacity and to cut costs. To guarantee professional and smooth handling, five employees of the Salzburg logistics service provider are working there, being in charge of planning, control, vehicle control and loading of 700 rolling boxes or 500 pallets per day.

In Austria the MTH trading group operates the enterprises Libro, Pagro and eplus, concentrating on paper and writing articles, office accessories and equipment, entertainment, games and handicraft as well as current offerings of technical devices and household articles. Libro Handelsgesellschaft mbH is the market leader in the segment of paper and writing articles. Pagro Handelsgesellschaft mbH operates 120 branches; eplus Handelsgesellschaft mbH acts as mail order company in the B2B sector.
