Quehenberger Logistics starts according to plan

Transport and logistic services in 13 European countries with Quehenberger Logistics

Quehenberger Logistics GmbH has started operation according to schedule. The enterprise based in Straßwalchen near Salzburg offers “close to your business“-solutions since 1 April 2010. This means transport and logistic services specialised on clearly defined products and selected branches (e.g. electronic/high-tech, automotive, tyres, paper, consumer goods, steel/metal, furniture, chemicals/dangerous goods, fresh logistics).

Quehenberger Logistics presents itself as a specialist for transport networks and contract logistics with a focus on outsourcing of logistics (procurement and distribution, warehousing, value added services). The enterprise operates a area-covering network for general cargo with 10 locations in Austria, that serves for the handling of standardised consignments within 24/48 hours. The network in Eastern Europe comprises 55 locations in 12 nations.

At the beginning of February 2010 Christian Fürstaller (CEO), Rodolphe Schoettel (CFO) and Rudi Quehenberger bought out the new provider of transport, forwarding and logistic services in Central and Eastern Europe from the Road + Rail segment of Logwin AG. Quehenberger Logistics has around 1,100 employees at 65 locations in 13 countries (including Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Byelorussia and Russia). The covered storage capacity totals more than 175,000 square metres. In 2010 the enterprise aims at achieving a turnover of around EUR 220 million.
