Borealis awards major contract to Loxxess Group

Loxxess Group assumes plant logistics on behalf of Borealis at the Bavarian location Burghausen

Germany based Loxxess Group reports the winning of a new major business. On the basis of a four years contract the service provider assumes plant logistics at the Borealis site in Burghausen, Bavaria, where basic chemicals and plastics are produced. The Loxxess staff of 24 takes over around 300,000 tons of plastic granules in bags per year from Borealis (about 240,000 pallets) and the subsequent interim storage on the plant area, administration and dispatch preparation as well. Further tasks are additional services for the dispatch of goods in silo trucks and for the production supply, as e.g. the interim storage of packing or raw materials.

Loxxess has prevailed against several competitors in the tender for the contract. “What was critical for placing the order was meeting the requirements of our safety and environmental regulations in the first line, as well as the high quality requirements for the handling of the goods“, explains Christian Riess, location manager BHWL at Borealis. “The major part of the logistics services we transfer to Loxxess, are effected on the area of a refinery and thus under the relevant special conditions“, he adds.

Loxxess Group with their headquarters in Tegernsee operates as an outsourcing specialist, who provides logistic services along the complete supply chain. They are specialising on the following branches: Industrial Services, Sport & Lifestyle, FMCG & Sensitive Goods, Mail Order & e-Commerce, Consumer Electronics & Media Products and Pharma & Chemicals. At 28 locations in Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland 1,600 employees operate on around 550,000 square metres warehousing area.
