GeoPost and DPD maintained their course in 2009

Parcel-/express service provider GeoPost and DPD were able to keep their market position in 2009

Against the background of a 1.9 per cent decrease in parcel volumes and a drop in prices of parcel consignments, GeoPost was able to maintain its operating profit in 2009 on a stable level. The subsidiary of the French La Poste Group is known as the majority shareholder of DPD and counts among the leading providers of parcel and express services in Europe. They recorded consolidated sales of EUR 3.093 billion in 2009, and hence failed the previous year’s figure by 4.6 per cent.

In spite of the global financial crisis GeoPost maintained its pace of growth both in and outside Europe, which they had started in 2008. The company won numerous new clients and maintained its market position, the management announces. In the reporting period GeoPost and DPD have transported and delivered more than 540 million parcels within a highly developed network
