Raben Group finalises takeover of Wincanton divisions

German road network and business activities in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland of Wincanton are now part of the Raben Group:

Following the successful testing by competent competition authorities and other institutions, Raben Group has finalised the takeover of several divisions of the Wincanton Group. Integrating the Germany road network and business activities in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland, the number of staff has risen from 5,200 to more than 7,500 employees. The number of locations rose from 77 to 133 stations.

"We believe this acquisition is a milestone for the Raben Group to further improve the market presence in Central and Eastern Europe. We are concentrating on finalising and immediately implementing the plan of integration. We will do this in tight cooperation with our customers and former Wincanton staff. The first step will be the change of the name from Wincanton to Raben Trans European ", Ewald Raben, CEO of Raben Group, comments on the acquisition.
